OBS Notepad

Take notes inside OBS Studio using a Browser Dock. The OBS Notepad lets you quickly scribble and store notes directly in your streaming setup without switching windows.
Home Features OBS Notepad

OBS Notepad is a PotatoHotDog feature that lets you take notes directly inside OBS Studio. Instead of alt-tabbing to a separate app to jot something down, you can keep a notepad right inside your streaming setup using OBS's built-in Browser Dock.

It is perfect for keeping track of things during a live stream - whether that is game objectives, chat suggestions, sponsor talking points, or anything else you want visible at a glance while you stream.

How It Works

Setting up the OBS Notepad takes just a few steps:

  • Create a new OBS Notepad on your PotatoHotDog dashboard.
  • Copy the generated Browser Dock URL.
  • In OBS Studio, go to View → Docks → Custom Browser Docks and paste the URL.
  • The notepad will appear as a dockable panel inside OBS Studio, where you can write and edit notes at any time.
  • Notes are saved automatically and stored securely on the server.

Features

  • Lives inside OBS Studio as a docked panel - no need to switch windows.
  • Notes are stored securely on the server and persist between sessions.
  • Customizable background color to match your OBS theme or stream layout.
  • Lightweight and simple - just a clean place to write things down.
