Chat Summarizer

Chat Summarizer is a PotatoHotDog feature that uses AI to summarize your Twitch chat. It looks at the recent chat messages and creates a short summary of what is going on, displayed directly on your stream as an overlay.

It works by adding a Browser Source in OBS Studio. Once set up, the summary is automatically updated periodically, several times an hour - perfect for viewers who just joined, streamers coming back from a break, or fast-moving chats where messages fly by too quickly to read.

How It Works

Setting up the Chat Summarizer takes just a few steps:

• Create a Chat Summarizer Browser Source on your PotatoHotDog dashboard.
• Copy the generated Browser Source URL.
• Add it as a Browser Source in OBS Studio.
• The AI will now periodically summarize your recent Twitch chat messages and show the summary on your stream, automatically updated several times an hour.

Customization Options

The Chat Summarizer can be tailored to fit your stream:

• Instructions - tell the AI how to summarize your chat, for example the tone to use or the topics to focus on. By default the summary is humorous but respectful and follows the Twitch guidelines.
• Script code - control exactly how the summary looks on your stream with your own script code, including fonts, colors, position, and animations.
• API key - choose which of your PotatoHotDog API keys the browser source should use.
